Review: Femme Fatale Lacquer Razzle Me Dazzled

I received a bottle of Razzle Me Dazzled from Femme Fatal Lacquer to try out and review. It’s a sheer purple jelly base with small purple and fuschia glitter and some bigger teal glitter. Here are a few pictures of the bottle:20120927-070408.jpgThe first thing I noticed was that the lighter purple glitters had a holo quality to them. They seemed to sparkle in every color! That’s what the out of focus picture is trying to show.

Here’s a larger picture of the bottle. I love these colors together!

I figured it would probably look best as a top coat but I wanted to check it out on its own first. This next picture shows one coat, two coats and three coats.

I did have to fish around a little and do some dabbing to get some of the teal glitter on my nail in the “right” spot. I personally wouldn’t wear it on its own but I know some people like to.

Then I tried to decide what kind of base color I should use with it. I went through my polishes to find something I thought would compliment the glitter. And I didn’t want to do just white or black. Razzle Me Dazzled has character and I wanted the base color to show that! I finally decided on these:

Nicole by OPI Purple Yourself Together, Ulta Cocktails Anyone?, Julep Anne, Zoya Dove

The next swatches are in the same order as above. Two coats of the color base and two coats of Razzle Me Dazzled. I did have to do some dabbing of the polish on my nail to get the teal glitters where they needed to go (ie. not all at the tips of my nails). The formula of the polish was very nice, not too thick and not too thin. And the glitter stays suspended in the polish. I would still suggest a good shaking a few minutes before applying it, but it didn’t all settle to the bottom which is good.

20120927-070443.jpgI think the Nicole by OPI and the Zoya were flops in the undies department. I didn’t like the way those colors came out under Razzle Me Dazzled. I *really* liked it over the Ulta and I love the way it brought out the purple in the Julep. This is not actually a kind of polish that I wear very often so I’m still getting the hang of the application and the look is growing on me.  I wasn’t sure I liked it at first but looking at the pictures is bringing me around!

Which one of these looks is your favorite?

You can buy her polish in her store, find her on Facebook and on Instagram at @FemmeFataleLacquer. She is currently running a 20% off fall sale in her store (through Sept. 29th): LOVEFALL20 and she is also hosting a giveaway on her FB page (look for the giveaway tab).

*This polish was sent to me for my honest review. Please see my disclosure page.
